Group shots is something I sort of struggle with I often times feel like I’m never in the right spot at the right time to get the perfect shot. So when it comes to group shots for me I try and keep it more candid. Yes they should still be positioned right, but they don’t all have to be staring straight into the camera for the shot to be good.
Comm 316 has some awesome photographers, but often times as photographers we hate to get our picture taken. These guy and gals did a great job and being the ones in the picture rather then taking the picture. For the group shots I used a little bigger aperture then what I used for the portraits. My aperture was set at 5.6 so that it wouldn’t have as much blur and a bigger focus spot. The light source that was used for these group shots was a reflector.
There always should be some laughs during group sessions. These pregnant gals above have been so fun to work with in Comm 316. Once again catching someone laughing or someone in a natural situation can make for a great shot.
