Comm 316 Senior Portraits

As a Comm 316 student I have been able to do some senior portrait sessions with some of the other graduating photographers. This section is dedicated to senior portraits for the guys. This first picture of Tyler was taken using beauty dish as the light source.

Eastern Idaho is a great place to take pictures because of the beautiful landscape that we have around us everyday.  I have had many opportunities to explore this part of Idaho because of being involved in the Comm 316 Professional Image class offered at BYU-I.

When taking portraits of guys it’s important to make them look masculine. You don’t want them to look cute and curvy like the girls you want them to look like they have muscles and they are tough. In order to do that you want to pose them correct. Shooting a little lower, looking up at them is always a nice way to make them look powerful and in control. Both these two pictures of Erik were taken using a speed light and also a 28-75mm Tamron lens with a f2.8.
